What powertrain options are brought in?

Within each 2020 Compass comes a 2.4-liter inline-4 engine that pushes out 180 horsepower and 175 lb-ft of torque. This engine transfers its power well through the Compass's systems when properly configured to achieve a city/highway fuel economy ration of 23/32 mpg and up to 2,000 lbs of trailer tow capacity. The Compass can be outfitted with a choice between one of three transmissions, a six-speed manual (Sport and Latitude 4x2 trims), a six-speed automatic transmission (optional on Sport 4x2 and standard with Latitude 4x2 and Limited 4x2 trims), or a nine-speed automatic transmission (optional on Sport 4x4, Latitude 4x4 and standard with Trailhawk 4x4 and Limited 4x4). Each 4x4 model comes standard with Jeep's Selec-Terrain system that allows for terrain presets to adjust the torque distribution for enhanced traction support.

What are the trim levels of the 2020 Compass?

Jeep offers four different trim models to select from to outfit the Compass with a selection of features that increases in depth the higher you go in trim level. The base starting trim model is the Compass Sport that establishes a foundation of features including keyless entry/ignition, quad-halogen headlights that are paired with daytime running lights, split-folding rear seats, dual-zone automatic temperature control, variable intermittent front wipers, 16-inch wheels, and an advanced Uconnect 4 multimedia system with six speakers, a 7-inch touchscreen display, USB ports, and smartphone integration including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Latitude trim is the Compass's second trim level, offering even more features such as roof rails, premium vinyl interior trimming, leather-wrapped shift knob, ambient interior LED lights, additional rear air vents, automatic headlights, and more. The Trailhawk trim continues to build off of the Latitude with additional features as well as being Jeep's specialized trim model that is tapered towards off-road capability; some of the key enhancements with the Trailhawk trim include a tuned and raised suspension for higher ground clearance, low-range gear settings for improved crawl ratio, underbody skid plates for additional vital system protection, and all-terrain tires. The Limited trim also builds off of the Latitude trim model, bringing in the highest level features that enhance comfort and convenience even more. Some of the key top-level features we find in the Limited include interior and exterior design accents unique to the trim, larger 18-inch wheels, built-in windshield wiper de-icer, auto-dimming rearview mirror, a leather-wrapped steering wheel that is heated, larger 8.4-inch touchscreen display, and more.
