Trucks offer drivers unmatched capability along with interiors that range from job site ready to outright luxurious. Which is why we have compared two of the top trucks on the road today! The 2020 Ram 1500 with off-road, luxurious, and ranch inspired variants is the first vehicle we will be looking at. 2020 Ram 1500 Power & Handling

Let's talk about power and capability. The new 2020 Ram 1500 is capable of towing up to 12,750 pounds so you can tow your trailer or boat behind you. The Ram 1500 is even available with features to make towing easier like blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-path detection and trailer monitoring. This system takes into account the length of the item you are towing when determining if it is safe to change lanes. Let's get into the different engine options available for the Ram 1500. The standard engine is the award-winning 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine with eTorque that outputs 305 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. There are two variations of the 5.7-liter Hemi V8 engine available, one with and one without eTorque. Both engines make a respectable 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque. New this year is the third-generation 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6 engine that pumps out 260 horsepower, 480 lb-ft of torque, and is capable of towing up to 12,560 pounds.

2020 Chevrolet Silverado Power & Handling

While Chevrolet offers a wide range of engines for the Silverado the engines are tied to specific models, unlike the Ram 1500 which allows you to pair any engine with any trim level. The LT and RST, on the other hand, come standard with a 310 horsepower 2.7-liter Turbo with active fuel management. Available on those two models and standard on the LT Trail Boss, LTZ, and High Country is a 5.3-liter EcoTec3 V8 with dynamic fuel management. The Silverado's diesel engine, the Duramax 3.0-liter Turbo-Diesel I-6 produces 277 horsepower, 460 lb-ft of torque, is only available on the LT, RST, LTZ, and High Country, and is capable of towing just 9,300 pounds.
