2021 Wrangler Rubicon 392 Revealed

Building upon the Wrangler's iconic design, the Rubicon 392 model adds bronze accents all around the body from the trace around the Rubicon emblem on the hood, covers on the tow hooks in both the front and rear, and outlining the Trail Rated and Jeep badges. Design cues have also been taken from the Gladiator Mojave like a 40-mm raised hood with a fully functional hood scoop that brings cold air to the engine and delivers greater water fording abilities. There is also a 392 badge on each side. Moving inside, the cabin is outfitted with leather upholstery and keeps everyone comfortable and a gauge cluster with an all-new numbering and design to account for the more powerful engine. Of course, it is outfitted with an 8.4-inch touchscreen and the Uconnect infotainment system, as well as Jeep Off-road Pages that allow drivers to monitor drivetrain power distribution, GPS coordinates, altitude, roll, and pitch.

The engine under the hood of the Wrangler Rubicon 392 makes it the most powerful and capable Wrangler model ever built. This 6.4-liter V8 engine pumps out 470 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque. Jeep mates this engine to an 8-speed automatic transmission. Delivering performance when needed, this engine's peak torque is available just above idle speed, allowing the driver to sail from 0 to 60 mph in just under 4.5 seconds. This is perfect for steep rock crawling on the most treacherous trails. This engine is also outfitted with Fuel Saver Technology that seamlessly shifts from all eight-cylinders to four-cylinder high-fuel-economy mode when the load is light.

This engine is created to deliver the best off-roading capabilities of any Wrangler model. At the heart of the off-roading capabilities is the Selec-Trac full-time, active transfer case that delivers four driver-selectable modes. This system gives the driver the ability to set it and forget it because it is intuitive while constantly sending power to all four wheels. Other off-roading capabilities include Off-road Plus with Sand and Rock modes that adjust the throttle, transmission shift points, and traction control for optimum performance with low-speed rock crawling and tackling sand terrain and Selec-Speed Control that traverses tough terrain without needing brake or throttle input.
