Tradesman and HFE Trim Models

The base Tradesman trim offers a selection of features that work its way into each of the other models. Coming out of the gate you have a choice between a Quad Cab (smaller cab with longer bed) and Crew Cab (larger cab, shorter bed) for the overall body shape. The Crew Cab is especially a popular choice, offering a class-leading interior volume and comfortable seating for rear passengers if you are looking to also transport family and friends. Under the hood of each Tradesman trim, you'll find a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine with an option to work in an EcoDiesel V6 or HEMI V8 that further adds in more power and enhanced performance. Some key features that are also worked into each Tradesman trim model include trailer-sway control, 18-inch wheels, a 5-inch touchscreen that houses a Uconnect infotainment system, keyless push-button engine ignition, and more. The HFE trim model is Ram's variant of a base work-truck that is streamlined in features and optional packages offered, coming in as a Quad Cab format and works in larger 20-inch wheels, side steps, and bucket seats for the driver and front passenger.

Big Horn and Rebel Trim Models

The Big Horn trim model continues to build off of the Tradesman's features, offering a multitude of enhancements and systems. The Uconnect multimedia system, in particular, receives some attention, offered with an optional 8.4-inch touchscreen display, or a segment-exclusive 12-inch touchscreen that comes with split-screen functionality. The infotainment system also is enhanced, coming with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration features, alongside Bluetooth connectivity. The Rebel trim model is similar in feature selection to the Big Horn trim, but also comes bundled with a number of off-road-oriented systems such as electronic locking rear differential, underbody skid plates that enhance the protection of vital systems, and a tuned suspension for better control off-road.

Laramie Trim Model

The Laramie model of the 1500 continues to build in more features and take a lot of optional features from the earlier trim levels and have them come standard with each truck. Under the hood of the 1500 Laramie is a 5.7-liter HEMI V8 engine, that enhances the capabilities of the truck thanks to the higher power ratings and towing capabilities. The larger 8.4-inch touchscreen display with the Uconnect multimedia system is made standard with the Laramie trim, which is still offered with the larger 12-inch touchscreen as well. The Laramie trim also comes offered with power-adjustable seats that are covered with a leather upholstery set, automatic windshield wipers, power-operated tailgate, split-folding seats, automatic high-beams, and more. We also see a number of safety features offered as well, such as a parking support system, rear cross-path monitoring, and blind-spot assistance that works with a trailer being towed.

Laramie Longhorn and Limited Trim Models

Looking at the top of the trim level charts, the Laramie Longhorn and Limited trim models sit on top. The features offered with each of these trim levels include all of the previously seen features on lower trim levels as well as a multitude of additional comfort and convenience enhancing features. Both trim levels come standard in the Crew Cab configuration, which gives additional room for rear passengers and additional interior storage options. We also see a spray-in bedliner offered as well as a leather-wrapped steering wheel with wood inserts, and a number of unique styling accents inside and outside of the truck. Some stand-out features offered with these models include an exclusive four-corner air suspension system, a surround-view camera, a parallel/perpendicular parking system, and more.
